Pregones Theatre

The Pregones Theatre was founded in 1979. The Theater's mission is to create and perform original musical theatre and plays rooted in Puerto Rican/Latino cultures in ways that challenge the human experience.

Home to a network of Latino writers, dancers, actors and musicians, the Theatre is "known for mining connections between theater and popular culture, for creating plays with dynamic visual and rhythmic character, and for developing lasting forms of audience participation among the least solvent communities in The Bronx."

DIRECTIONS:

Subway:

Take the #2, 4 or 5 IRT trains to 149th Street and Grand Concourse.

Upon exiting the station, walk 1 short block west on 149th street to Walton Avenue.

Turn right on Walton Avenue.

Bus:

Take the Bx1 or Bx19 to 149th Street and Grand Concourse.

Walk 1 short block west on 149th street to Walton Avenue.

Turn right on Walton Avenue.

By Car From Manhattan:

Take the FDR drive north to the Willis Avenue Bridge to the Major Deegan Expressway (87N). Proceed north to Exit 3.

Take the right fork in the exit ramp to the Grand Concourse and proceed north to East 150th Street.

Turn left on 150th Street and left on Walton Avenue.

From Queens:

Take the Triborough Bridge to the Major Deegan Expressway.

Continue north to Exit 3. Take the right fork in the exit ramp to the Grand Concourse and proceed north to East 150th Street.

Turn left on 150th Street and left on Walton Avenue.

From Westchester:

Take the Major Deegan Expressway south (87S) to Exit 6 (River Avenue).

Stay to the right on the ramp (around and over the Yankee Stadium Parking lot).

At the first traffic light turn right onto 153 Street. Proceed for two blocks on 153 Street (end of the street) to Walton Avenue. Turn right on Walton.
